Mumbai: Punjabi singer Singga revealed that he dedicated around six to seven hours each day to prosthetic makeup for his debut production film, “Fakkar.”
This film marks his acting debut, produced under his own company, Boss Boy Productions, where he took on the roles of writer, director, and conceptualizer.
“This film and character are deeply personal to me, as it’s entirely my creation—from the concept to direction to writing. With this project, we aim to prove that films from North cinema can achieve box office success, and I believe ‘Fakkar’ is one of those films,” he stated.
Regarding the extensive makeup process, he explained, “To accurately portray the intense and enigmatic character of Fakkar, I spent 6-7 hours daily in the prosthetic makeup chair. The character’s transformation required meticulous attention to detail, from facial features to body language.”
“The prosthetics needed to convey burn marks and rugged textures to create a convincingly terrifying appearance. The team worked hard to ensure every aspect was consistent, making the character feel authentic and unrecognizable.”
He described the journey as challenging and time-consuming but ultimately rewarding, emphasizing that it was worth every moment. “I’m excited to see how the audience responds to this wild and badass character.”
“Fakkar” is expected to deliver an intense cinematic experience filled with mystery and is scheduled for release in 2025. Singga, whose real name is Manpreet Singh, is a multifaceted artist known for his contributions to Punjabi music and cinema, including popular Bollywood tracks like “Badnam,” “Sheh,” “Shadow,” “Photo,” “Jatt Di Clip 2,” and “Brotherhood.” He previously made his acting debut in the Bollywood film “Jora: The Second Chapter.”
