Relief from scorching heat for four days, orange alert for wind, rain and hailstorm in Punjab

Chandigarh : Friday evening brought relief for the people of Punjab, who have been suffering from scorching heat for the past one week.

Scorching sun and intense heat prevailed from morning to afternoon in most of the districts of Punjab. Around five o’clock in the evening, the mood of the weather changed and suddenly strong winds started blowing, then light rain started for some time.

Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Kapurthala was followed by light rain for some time which completely changed the weather. According to weather center Chandigarh, the maximum temperature in Faridkot and Ludhiana was 41 degree Celsius.

Weather will remain mild in Punjab till May 14
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain mild in Punjab till May 14 due to the activation of the latest Western Disturbance.

On Saturday, many districts of Punjab may experience thunderstorms with rain. The wind speed can be 40 to 50 km per hour due to which the department has issued an orange alert. After this, till May 14, there may be cloud cover, drizzle, thunder. During this, strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.
