Hyderabad: Renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has stirred controversy by calling on the film industry to rally against the recent arrest of Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. In a series of social media posts, Varma expressed his disapproval of the situation, likening it to a past incident involving the late Sridevi.
Ram Gopal Varma criticised the lack of support for Allu Arjun, urging stars and fans to stand united. “Every STAR should STRONGLY protest against @alluarjun‘s ARREST because for any celebrity whether it’s a FILM STAR or a POLITICAL STAR , is it a crime for them to be ENORMOUSLY POPULAR???,” he tweeted.

He went on to compare the situation with a past controversy surrounding Sridevi, highlighting how the late actress faced significant challenges in the public eye. “ 3 people died in the lakhs of crowd who came to see SRIDEVI in the shooting of my film KSHANA KSHANAM ..So will the #TelanganaPolice now go to #HEAVEN to ARREST #sridevi ???,” Varma added.
