Scuffle between BJP workers and Dharamshala police, accuse Congress govt

There was a scuffle between BJP workers and police in Tapovan, Dharamshala on Wednesday. BJP workers were trying to move towards the assembly after the demonstration at Zorawar Stadium. During this, the police stopped them by putting up barricades. BJP workers tried to break the barricades but the police did not let them move forward.

Earlier, the BJP held an outrage rally against the state government at Zorawar Stadium in Tapovan. A large number of workers from all the assembly constituencies of the district reached it. The BJP first made serious allegations of corruption against the Sukhu government inside the House and later at the Zorawar Stadium.

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that a large number of people had come to this demonstration. But the police stopped the people. The public is upset with the policies of the Congress government. That is why people had decided to surround the assembly.

He said, Congress came to power by giving 10 false assurances. No promise has been fulfilled so far. He said that ever since the Congress has come to power in the state, it is only burdening the public with inflation. VAT was imposed on diesel and pulses were also made expensive in ration depots.

BJP’s state general secretary Trilok Kapoor said, Congress cheated the public by giving guarantees. Unemployed youth were promised one lakh government jobs every year and 22 lakh sisters were promised Rs 1500 per month. Farmers and unemployed were also cheated by making false promises.
