Snowfall expected on high peaks in Himachal today: Western disturbance active

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh is expected to get relief from drought tomorrow. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), Western Disturbance (WD) will be active today. Its effect will be visible for the next three days. Light snowfall may occur on the high peaks of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur districts today also. The weather will remain clear in other districts.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of good rain and snowfall tomorrow and the day after. Especially tomorrow, there is a forecast of rain and snowfall in the entire state. For tomorrow, a warning of thunderstorm and lightning has been issued in all the districts except Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur.

The sun will shine on 6 and 7 February

There may be rain and snowfall at some places in the state on 5 February as well. The weather will be clear on 6 and 7 February. There may be rain and snowfall again on 8 February.

There was 85% less rainfall than normal in the winter season

There is a drought like situation in the state due to lack of rain and snowfall this winter season. The normal rainfall in the state is 89.1 mm from January 1 to February 2, but this time only 13.5 mm of rain has fallen. Which is 85 percent less than the normal.

Temperatures are higher than normal right now

Before the rain and snowfall, the temperature is higher than normal. Kalpa’s mercury has reached 13 degrees Celsius, 7.5 degrees higher than normal.

The temperature of Bhuntar reached 24.2 degrees, 6.3 degrees more than normal, the temperature of Shimla reached 16.0 degrees, 4 degrees more, the temperature of Sundernagar reached 23.6 degrees, 4.3 degrees more and the maximum temperature of Nahan reached 22.2 degrees Celsius, with a rise of 3.9 degrees than normal.
