Mumbai: Days after Kirti Kulhari claimed that she was “sidelined” during the promotions of Pink, Taapsee Pannu has responded, stating that she was unaware of Kirti’s feelings at the time.

In a recent interaction with leading news portal, Taapsee said, “How would I know? She has every right to feel the way she does. I would be the last person to tell someone that their feelings are wrong. If she felt a certain way, I am sure there is a reason.”

Pink, directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Shoojit Sircar, revolves around the lives of three women who get caught in a legal battle following an unfortunate incident. Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, and Andrea Tariang played the lead roles alongside Amitabh Bachchan.

Taapsee further added, “Had I known that she felt sidelined in any way, I would have liked to speak to her then and ask if there was something I could have done to make it better. Unfortunately, I did not know there was an issue at that point. So, I don’t know what to do with it now. I can’t disregard her feelings.”

Taapsee also clarified that while she and Kirti are not close friends, they share a cordial and professional relationship. She said, “Maybe she saw our relationship or situation differently and felt some distance from me. I have always kept it professional with her, and I still do. I worked with her again in Mission Mangal, and nothing changed professionally for me. From my perspective, she was the same girl I worked with in Pink.”

For those unfamiliar, Kirti Kulhari recently shared her feelings about the PR strategy she noticed during Pink promotions. She recalled, “I saw that the trailer was mainly focused on Taapsee and Mr Bachchan. That was the first shock for me because I knew what I had contributed to the film. Shoojit told me, ‘Don’t worry about it, let the film come out.’ I never do PR. I believe that my work will eventually be recognised.”

Pink received widespread critical acclaim and was also a commercial success at the box office.
