Telangana: Car catches fire on Highway in Suryapet, none injured

Suryapet: A car traveling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad caught fire early Saturday morning on the national highway within the Munagala police station jurisdiction in Suryapet district, according to police reports. Fortunately, the two occupants managed to escape unharmed as the vehicle was consumed by flames. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation.

In a separate incident, a fire erupted at a timber depot in Karmangath, located under the Saroornagar police station limits in Rangareddy district, on Friday night. Fire department officials responded quickly after receiving an emergency call. “We got the call around 11:07 pm, and three fire trucks arrived at the scene to bring the fire under control. The cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage are still being assessed,” said Fire official Srenaiah.

The timber depot owner informed reporters that the fire was likely triggered by a short circuit. “We closed the shop at 8:00 pm after finishing our daily operations, which end at 7:30 pm. However, a fire broke out due to a short circuit. We have inventory worth approximately Rs 80-85 lakhs in the shop, but we have not yet determined the level of damage,” the owner stated. He also mentioned, “I was alerted about the fire around 9:00 pm via phone. We attempted to control the flames using gas cylinders and managed to extinguish some of them. Thankfully, the fire officials arrived quickly, and the fire is now completely under control.”
