Temporary hospital in Maha Kumbh Mela area sees first birth of baby

New Delhi: A notable event occurred at the temporary hospital set up for the Maha Kumbh Mela, where doctors successfully delivered a baby boy, bringing joy to the facility.

Under the guidance of Dr. Gaurav Dubey, the Nodal Medical Officer of the Maha Kumbh Mela, a team of three doctors performed the delivery on Sunday.

Dr. Dubey confirmed, “This is the first successful delivery at the Central Hospital in Maha Kumbh Nagar.” The mother, 20-year-old Sonam, gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 2.4 kilograms. The delivery was managed by Dr. Dubey’s team, which included Dr. Nupur and Dr. Vartika.

Both mother and child are reported to be in good health. Dr. Dubey expressed his appreciation for the dedicated team, noting, “This achievement showcases the preparedness and effectiveness of the healthcare services established in the Maha Kumbh Mela area.”

The Central Hospital, part of the temporary setup for the Mela, is providing delivery services for the first time, equipped with a fully functional labor room to assist expecting mothers during the event.

Rama Singh, Matron of the Maha Kumbh Mela Central Hospital, commented on the achievement, saying, “The delivery was performed with the utmost care and precision. It was a successful first delivery, and we take pride in offering this vital service to the community.”

Sonam expressed her joy to IANS, stating, “I am very happy and thankful to all the staff and doctors for ensuring my baby’s safe delivery. My child is healthy, and I feel truly blessed. We will choose a name based on the suggestions from the doctors and staff.”

Her mother also conveyed her gratitude, saying, “This area, being part of the Kumbh, holds sacred significance. I am thankful to the doctors and staff for their dedicated service. My grandchild is healthy, and the delivery was successful. This is a moment of great joy for our family.”
