New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on BSF Raising Day, emphasizing that the vigilance and bravery of the Border Security Force (BSF) play a crucial role in ensuring the nation’s safety and security. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the BSF, which was established in 1965.
In his message, PM Modi praised the BSF’s dedication and service, recognizing them as a vital line of defense. He expressed his appreciation on X, stating, “Warm wishes to the Border Security Force on their Raising Day! The BSF stands as a critical line of defence, embodying courage, dedication and exceptional service. Their vigilance and courage contribute to the safety and security of our nation.”
As part of the celebrations, the BSF reaffirmed its commitment to its motto. “As #BSFturns60 today, we, the Seema Prahari, proudly rededicate ourselves to the service of our Nation. We remain steadfast in our commitment to uphold our motto.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored the BSF, highlighting the soldiers’ readiness to sacrifice their lives for the country. He wrote on X, “The soldiers of the @BSF_India have safeguarded the honor and ambitions of Bharat with the fiercest determination, never thinking twice to lay down their lives for it. Their valor and sacrifices are the undying wellspring of inspiration that has raised generations of patriots to ensure that our nation continues to flourish forever. My solemn homage to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.”
Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour & Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, also expressed her gratitude to the BSF personnel, stating, “…Your unwavering valor and sacrifices safeguard Bharat’s honour and inspire generations to serve selflessly. A heartfelt salute to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice. Jai Hind.”
The BSF is recognized as the world’s largest border-guarding force, responsible for securing the 6,386.36 km long international borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. On its Raising Day, the BSF reiterated its dedication to the nation and its motto of “lifelong duty.”
