Theme park in Kurukshetra renamed as Keshav Park

Kurukshetra: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Wednesday that the theme park situated in the revered land of ‘Dharmakshetra’ will now be called Keshav Park. This change aims to enhance the preservation and promotion of Kurukshetra’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, a site of great religious and historical importance in India.

To honor students participating in the Global Gita Path, the Chief Minister declared a special holiday for schools on Thursday, encouraging them to use the day to prepare for their upcoming exams.

Chief Minister Saini attended the Global Gita Paath – Ashtadashi Shloka event, which involved 18,000 children during the International Gita Mahotsav. Among the attendees were Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Tanzania’s Tourism Minister Pindi Chana, and Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj.

In his address, the Chief Minister extended greetings for Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi and Gita Jayanti, praying for the illumination of residents’ lives through knowledge. He noted that 5,162 years ago on this date, Lord Krishna revealed the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.

Saini expressed pride in the recitation of the Ashtadashi verses by 18,000 students, emphasizing that the Gita is being recited in many countries worldwide. He stated that this recitation carries both religious and scientific significance, with the 18 verses embodying prayer, song, and a call for peace.

He remarked that every shloka of the Bhagavad Gita offers new insights and inspiration for life, describing it not just as a dialogue between Arjun and Lord Krishna but as a source of answers to life’s questions. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of individuals fulfilling their dharma and duties, asserting that such dedication fosters discipline and harmony within society.

Tanzania’s Tourism Minister Pindi Chana, representing a partner country at the International Gita Mahotsav, praised Kurukshetra as a sacred site where the Vedas and Puranas were written. She referred to it as one of the most significant pilgrimage destinations, where Lord Krishna imparted the divine wisdom of the Gita to Arjun.

Minister Chana emphasized that the International Gita Mahotsav transcends religious boundaries, celebrating culture, heritage, and essential life principles. She noted that the Gita teaches that the ultimate purpose of human existence lies in truth, serving as a guiding light for both religion and humanity.
