Three Accused of Robbery for Drug Supply Arrested in Bhatinda

Bhatinda: The police of Canal Colony police station have arrested three individuals from a gang involved in robbery to fulfill their drug needs. Sharp weapons and illegal arms have also been recovered from them. All three suspects are unemployed and have several previous cases registered against them.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Jaswant Singh was on patrol with the police team when they received information that some individuals were planning to commit a major crime near the railway tracks under the Badal Bridge, armed with sharp weapons and illegal arms. Based on this information, the police formed a team and conducted a raid, leading to the arrest of three individuals. They have been identified as Omkar, a resident of Guru Kul Road, Harkamal Singh from Pars Ram Nagar, and Manish Kumar from Pratap Nagar.

During the operation, the police seized a kirpan (dagger), a metal rod, a bicycle axle, a 12-bore country-made firearm, as well as a motorcycle and an Activa scooter.

After the arrest, the three individuals will be presented in court to ascertain how many other crimes they have committed. SP City Narinder Singh stated that these three individuals had formed a gang and were planning to execute a significant crime using illegal arms and weapons. He noted that the trio are drug addicts who have previously committed several offenses to fuel their addiction. They were reportedly planning to rob a big house or a petrol pump while armed. Furthermore, it was revealed that all three suspect are unemployed, with both Manish Kumar and Harkamal Singh having seven cases registered against them at different police stations, while Omkar has five cases registered against him at Canal Colony Police Station. The police plan to present the suspects in court to obtain their remand for further investigation.
