Ludhiana : A Kanungo deployed in Samrala has been crushed to death by an over speeding truck on Dehlon Road on Friday. In the incident an auto rickshaw driver has also suffered severe injuries.
The incident occured near a Satsang Ghar on Dehlon Road in Sahnewal when an over speeding truck coming from wrong side badly rammed into Swift Dzire car and also hit an auto rickshaw.
According to the police, the truck driver was under influence of alcohol and the impact of collision was so strong that the car was badly damaged.
The victim has been identified as Gurmail Singh (55) of Koom Khurd and according to ASI Gurmeet Singh the victim was Kanungo in Samrala.
The injured auto rickshaw driver has been identified as Vijay Kumar of Shimlapuri. He has been admitted to Civil Hospital in Ludhiana.
ASI Gurmeet Singh said that the police struggled to take out the body of the victim from the car as the car was badly damaged.
He said that the police have initiated investigation into the matter.
