Delhi: Excitement had been building around the release of Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming rom-com Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. However, reliable industry sources have confirmed that the Karan Johar-backed production will no longer be releasing on 18th April 2025 as originally planned.
Extended Shoot and Reshoots
A close source to the film has revealed that the shoot has now been extended until March.
“Karan and Shashank believe there is room to add more entertaining elements to the film. As a result, they have planned an additional schedule, particularly focused on the destination wedding sequences. The entire cast, including Varun and Janhvi, will be involved. The goal is to further enhance the film to ensure it resonates strongly with audiences. Karan, being a master of this genre, is leaving no stone unturned to deliver two major rom-coms in 2025: Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Teri Tu Mera,” the source shared.
Additional Filming and New Release Timeline
The source further revealed that apart from a few scenes, the team will also be filming two additional songs. With around 25 days of shooting still left, the film’s release has been pushed to the second half of 2025.
With Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari vacating its original slot, another Dharma Productions film is set to take its place. An official announcement regarding the new release schedule is expected soon.
