Jammu and Kashmir: In Yanmar of Kashmir on Saturday former BJP sarpanch was killed and a couple from Jaipur was injured in twin terror attack.
Terrorists in the first incident, opened fire at a former BJP sarpanch, identified as Aijaz Sheikh, in Shopian’s Hirpora area at around 10.30 pm, the officials said, adding that he later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
On Saturday an another incident happened, couple from Jaipur were injured after terrorists opened fire at a tourist camp in UT’s Anantnag district.
The injured couple, Farha and her husband, Tabrez, were rushed to a hospital in a critical condition in Jammu.
The areas of Anantnag and Shopian have been restricted, without permission one can not go and search operations have been launched to nab the attackers, the officials said.
Both attacks come at a time when campaigning for the parliamentary polls in the Anantnag-Rajouri seat is going on and on May 20 polling in Baramulla will be held in the fifth round of polls.
