Lucknow Weather Update: Heavy rain, thunderstorms and winds

Lucknow witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning early this morning. Gusty winds, blowing at speeds of approximately 40 kilometers per hour, swept through the city. The weather turned pleasant as a result. During this period, power outages were reported in several localities. The Meteorological Department forecasts that the maximum temperature will hover around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 25 degrees Celsius.

The weather is expected to remain clear for the majority of the day, though there will be intermittent cloud movement. On Saturday, the maximum temperature stood at 34.01 degrees Celsius 5.3 degrees lower than the normal average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.1 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees lower than the seasonal norm. Maximum humidity was recorded at 83 percent, while the minimum humidity stood at 43 percent.

Weather Set to Change Again Starting Tomorrow

The Meteorological Department states that, starting May 4th, the influence of a new Western Disturbance is likely to trigger a fresh spell of storms and rainfall across the state. This phenomenon could lead to a drop in temperatures ranging from 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. The impact of this weather system is expected to persist until May 6th. Within Uttar Pradesh, the effects—originating in the western region of the state are projected to extend to various districts in Eastern Uttar Pradesh over the next three days. It rained in Lucknow in the early hours of the morning. The skies remained overcast throughout the morning.

No Heatwave Expected Until May 10

The Meteorological Department states that there is no likelihood of a heatwave sweeping across the state during the first 10 days of May. With the exception of certain pockets in Western Uttar Pradesh, maximum and minimum temperatures in most parts of the state—including Lucknow and surrounding areas are expected to remain at or above normal levels. Specifically, heatwave conditions may persist for a longer-than-usual duration in the northern Terai regions, whereas in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, the intensity of the heatwave is likely to remain within normal limits.
