Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police removed a sub-inspector along with 11 other police personnel in Lucknow after videos allegedly exposing interdepartmental corruption surfaced online. The action was taken following serious allegations raised by a constable through multiple video messages that went viral on social media.

Videos Trigger Departmental Action

According to police officials, the videos contained allegations related to corruption and irregular practices within the department. The constable reportedly accused certain officers of misconduct and misuse of authority, prompting senior officials to initiate an inquiry into the matter.

Following preliminary findings, authorities transferred or removed 12 officials, including a sub-inspector, from their current postings in Lucknow.

Inquiry Underway

Senior police officials stated that an internal investigation has been launched to verify the allegations made in the videos. Authorities said strict action would be taken if any officer is found involved in corruption or violation of departmental rules.

The department has also begun reviewing the functioning of the concerned police unit to ensure transparency and accountability.
