In Lucknow, a 34-year-old Sub-Inspector committed suicide. His body was found hanging in a rented room. ASI Satyendra Verma was posted at the Police Headquarters. A four-page suicide note recovered by the police stated: “I have lost the will to live.”
This incident, which occurred on Friday, took place in the Ahimamau area of Sushant Golf City. The Sub-Inspector was originally a resident of Tameshwar Nagar in Fatehpur. Preliminary police investigations revealed that the officer had met a young woman on Instagram a year and a half ago. The couple wished to get married, but they eventually broke up.
The reason for the breakup was that her father and brother were opposed to the relationship. The Sub-Inspector had been under stress ever since. His mother has alleged that the girlfriend had been harassing him for money. The police are currently investigating the allegations made by the family members as well.
Suicide Note Reads: “No One Is Responsible for My Suicide”
The police recovered a suicide note from ASI Satyendra Verma’s room. It is reported that the letter does not hold anyone responsible for his suicide. According to the police, the suicide note states that he had been under stress regarding a certain issue for the past few days.
He also sought forgiveness from everyone. He mentioned that he had been under significant distress back in 2014 as well something his family members were aware of. At that time, he had not contemplated suicide, but now, his will to live had completely vanished.
Had Not Answered His Mother’s Calls for Two Days
The Sub-Inspector’s cousin, Devendra Verma, stated: “Alongside his job, he was preparing for the Civil Services examination. His mother had been calling him for two days, but he did not answer. When his family members became worried because he wasn’t picking up, they informed me. On Friday, when I reached my cousin’s room, I found it locked from the inside. Fearing a tragedy, I alerted the police. The police arrived, and when the door was forced open, we found him hanging.”
Mother Alleges: “A Girl Kept Demanding Money”
However, the Sub-Inspector’s mother, Sukhrani Devi, has accused an Instagram acquaintance—a young woman—of blackmailing him to extort money. According to his mother, about a year and a half ago, Satyendra had connected with a young woman through Instagram.
The two wished to get married, but the relationship ended due to opposition from the young woman’s father and brother. Subsequently, the young woman allegedly began demanding money from Satyendra, and her family members reportedly went so far as to threaten him with death.
