Ludhiana: In the Atam Park area of Ludhiana, a young man hired to perform domestic chores fled after stealing cash and gold and silver jewelry from the house. The incident occurred while the family was away attending a relative’s function.
The family had hired the domestic worker just a few days prior. Immediately after the incident, family members informed the police. The police at the Model Town Police Station have registered a case against the accused and have initiated an investigation.
Domestic Worker Hired on April 23
In a complaint filed with the police, Lavneesh Arora, a resident of Atam Park, stated that on April 20, 2026, his wife, Shayna Arora, called an acquaintance named Sachin (son of Gulab) and requested him to send a worker for domestic chores. Subsequently, on April 23, Sachin sent a young man named Lavkush to their home to work.
Theft Committed by Domestic Worker on the Night of May 3
According to the complainant, on the night of May 3, he and his family went to attend a relative’s function. Only Lavkush was present at the house. When the family returned, they found the main gate of the house open, and Lavkush was missing.
Upon entering the house, they discovered that the wardrobe lock had been broken. The cash and gold and silver jewelry kept inside were missing. When the family checked the other rooms, they found that an attempt had also been made to break the lock on the bedroom door.
Following this, the family and Sachin searched extensively for the accused, Lavkush, but found no trace of him. The matter was then reported to the police.
Based on the complaint filed by Lavneesh Arora, a resident of Atam Park, Ludhiana, the Model Town Police Station has registered an FIR against the accused, Lavkush—a resident of Baroli village, District Gonda (Uttar Pradesh)—under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and has commenced an investigation.
