A horrific road accident occurred on the Jammu National Highway near Bhogpur-Kishangarh in Jalandhar. A total of four people; including a two-year-old child, a woman, an army soldier, and his wife, died on the spot following a violent head-on collision between two cars. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were reduced to mangled wrecks.
The accident involved a Creta and a Baleno car. Four occupants of the Baleno lost their lives, while five people in the Creta sustained serious injuries. The deceased include the two-year-old child, the soldier, his wife, and another woman.
According to reports, the family was traveling in the Baleno car to visit Sri Hazur Sahib. While crossing the divider near Kishangarh, the car went out of control, veered onto the opposite side of the road, and collided with the Creta. The collision was so intense that both cars were completely wrecked.
Locals immediately informed the police about the incident. The police arrived at the scene, took the bodies into custody, and have initiated an investigation. Preliminary information suggests that speeding was the primary cause of the accident.
Baleno Crosses Divider and Collides with Creta
The accident occurred at 5:41 AM near Johal Dhaba, close to Kishangarh on the Nurpur-Cholang route. Four people died on the spot, while five others sustained serious injuries.
Upon receiving the information, the SSF team arrived at the scene at 5:41 AM. A Baleno car (PB07 CA 1510) was traveling from Bhogpur towards Jalandhar. Suddenly, the vehicle went out of control, crossed the divider, and collided head-on with a Creta car (UP21 CJ 9595) traveling from Jalandhar towards Pathankot. The impact was so severe that the Baleno car was completely wrecked.
All four occupants of the Baleno car died on the spot. Meanwhile, five occupants of the Creta car—residents of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh—sustained serious injuries. Before the SSF team could arrive, all the injured were immediately rushed to Fortis Hospital with the help of locals.

The deceased have been identified as occupants of the Baleno car: Rupinder Singh (resident of Himmatpur, Hoshiarpur district), Harpreet Kaur (wife of Rupinder Singh), Arshdeep Singh (son of Rupinder Singh), and Santosh Kaur. The injured, who were in the Creta car, have been identified as Alina Khan (daughter of Abdul Saeed Khan), Abdul Saeed Khan, Parveen Khan, Abdul Faisal Khan, and Mainal Khan.
DSP Rajiv Kumar Assesses the Situation
Upon learning of the incident, Sub-Inspector Ravinder Singh, in charge of the Alawalpur police post, immediately arrived at the scene with a police force. DSP Rajiv Kumar was also present at the site. The police initiated relief and rescue operations, cleared both vehicles from the road, and restored the smooth flow of traffic. The police are conducting further investigation into the matter.
