Bollywood actress and BJP Lok Sabha member from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, has received a major setback from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in a tweet case related to the farmers’ movement against three farm laws. The High Court refused to dismiss the defamation complaint filed in Bathinda in 2021 and dismissed Kangana’s petition.
What Kangana Tweeted?
Kangana Ranaut had posted a photo of a farmer woman from the farmers’ movement and accused her of being brought into the protest by paying money. Against this statement of Kangana Ranaut, a defamation complaint was filed by Mahinder Kaur of Bathinda in 2021. Kangana had sought the dismissal of this complaint from the High Court.
In a tweet, she wrote, “Ha ha ha she is the same dadi who featured in Time magazine for being the most powerful Indian…. And she is available in 100 rupees. Pakistani jurno’s have hijacked international PR for India in an embarrassing way. We need our own people to speak for us
internationally.”
Kangana’s Petition in High Court
The petition filed by Kangana Ranaut in the High Court in Bathinda in January 2021, demanded the quashing of the defamation case filed against her but today giving a majr blow, the high court refused to dismiss the Defamation filed.

Let us tell you that during the farmers’ agitation, Kangana Ranaut had posted a photo of Mahinder Kaur of Bathinda and said that such women join the dharna by taking Rs 100 each. After which Bebe Mahinder Kaur had filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut in Bathinda. Then Kangana filed a petition in the High Court demanding the quashing of this complaint.
