Three vehicles collided in a horrific road accident on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway on Friday morning, leaving a canter driver critically injured. The accident occurred near the BT Company, close to Asalwas village. Here, a canter went out of control, smashed through the median railing, veered into the wrong lane, and crashed head-on into an oncoming trailer. Simultaneously, a car approaching from behind also collided with the wrecked vehicles. Following the accident, a massive traffic jam ensued on the highway for some time.
Locals helped in rescue operations
Immediately after the crash, locals rushed to the scene and initiated rescue operations. Residents extricated the injured canter driver from his vehicle and promptly transported him to a hospital, where his condition remains critical. Meanwhile, the trailer driver abandoned his vehicle at the scene and fled; the police are currently searching for him.
Long traffic jam after collision
Upon receiving the information, personnel from the Kasola Police Station arrived at the site and took charge of the situation. The police arranged for the removal of the damaged vehicles from the road and worked to restore the smooth flow of traffic. The traffic jam persisted on the highway for approximately half an hour, resulting in long queues of vehicles stretching in both directions. Thanks to the prompt response of the police, traffic was gradually able to return to normal.
Police begin investigation
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident may have been caused by the driver dozing off at the wheel or by a bend in the road. The specific location where the accident occurred features a slight curve, a factor that often causes drivers to lose control of their vehicles. The police are also investigating whether driver negligence or excessive speed may have contributed to the crash.
Investigating Officer Manish stated that all aspects of the accident are being thoroughly examined. Efforts are underway to identify the trailer driver, and footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being scrutinized. He further confirmed that appropriate legal action will be taken in connection with this case.
