New Delhi: Two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker and ISSF World Cup Final Cairo 2025 gold medalist Simranpreet Kaur Brar delivered stellar performances at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, winning gold medals in the Senior and Junior Women’s 25m Sports Pistol events respectively at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competition (NSCC).
Senior Women’s 25m Sports Pistol Final
Manu secured the gold medal with a score of 36 in the final. She finished four hits ahead of Divya T.S. of Karnataka, who won the silver medal with a score of 32. Anjali Chaudhary claimed the bronze medal with 28 hits.
Rhythm Sangwan (22) finished fourth, followed by Arshdeep Kaur (18), Annu Raj Singh (14), and Anuja Verma (11) in fifth, sixth, and seventh place respectively, while Parisha Gupta could not participate in the final.
Earlier in the qualification round, Divya T.S. secured the top spot with a score of 587-22x. Anjali Chaudhary (582-19x) finished second, and Annu Raj Singh (582-16x) came in third. Manu Bhaker secured fourth place with 581-19x. Parisha Gupta (581-14x) finished fifth, Rhythm Sangwan (579-17x) sixth, while Arshdeep Kaur and Anuja Verma also made it to the top eight with 578-19x.
Junior Women’s 25m Sports Pistol Final
In the Junior Women’s 25m Sports Pistol final, Simranpreet Kaur Brar continued her impressive form, winning the gold medal with a score of 39. Dwaram Pranavi secured the silver medal, while Palak of Haryana won the bronze medal with a score of 20.
Tanu Shree Tomar (19) was eliminated in a shoot-off and finished fourth. Sejal Raju Kamble (14), Meghna Sadula (11), and Lavanya Kanwar (7) secured the subsequent positions respectively. Parisha did not participate in the final.
In the junior qualification round, Parisha Gupta topped the list, while Simranpreet Kaur Brar secured second place with a score of 578-13x. Palak (575-14x) finished third. They were followed by Sejal Raju Kamble (575-12x), Tanu Shree Tomar (573-11x), Lavanya Kanwar (572-17x), Meghna Sadula (572-13x), and Dwaram Pranavi (572-11x).
Women’s Team 25m Sports Pistol Event
In the women’s team 25m sports pistol event, Maharashtra won the gold medal with a combined score of 1726-40x. The team comprised Sheetal Pritam Desai (577-12x), Abhidnya Ashok Patil (575-13x), and Rahi Sarnobat (574-15x).
The Army Marksmanship Unit (Anuja Verma, Sejal Raju Kamble, and Anjali Bhagwat) won the silver medal with 1722-44x, while Haryana (Rhythm Sangwan, Vibhuti Bhatia, and Tejaswini) secured the bronze medal with 1718-43x.
Junior Women’s Team Event
In the junior women’s team event, the Army Marksmanship Unit (Sejal Raju Kamble, Jia Jakhar, and Anjali Bhagwat) won the gold medal with 1714-38x. Delhi (Parisha Gupta, Kamakshi Kumar, and Namya Kapoor) secured the silver medal with 1714-36x. Punjab (Simranpreet Kaur Brar, Agam Grewal, and Jasman Kelly) won the bronze medal with 1709-40x.
