Hyderabad: PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth around Rs 9,377 crore in Telangana during his visit to Hyderabad on Sunday.
The Prime Minister’s visit marks his first trip to the state after assuming office for a third term.
The event will be held at HICC in Cyberabad in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with senior state officials.
Zaheerabad Industrial Area Expected to Generate 1.74 Lakh Jobs
One of the flagship projects to be inaugurated is the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district, being developed under the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
Spread across 3,245 acres and developed at a cost exceeding Rs 2,360 crore, the industrial area is strategically located along National Highway 65 and is expected to attract investments of nearly Rs 10,000 crore.
Officials said the project could generate employment for around 1.74 lakh people.
The industrial township will focus on sectors including logistics, auto components, electrical and electronics, machinery, metals and food processing.
PM MITRA Textile Park to Boost Telangana’s Textile Sector
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal under the PM MITRA Scheme.
Developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1,700 crore, the park is India’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park and is based on the Centre’s “5F” vision Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.
According to officials, the textile park is expected to create over 24,400 jobs and strengthen Telangana’s textile manufacturing ecosystem.
The park has already generated employment for nearly 2,000 people.
Highway Project to Improve Telangana-Karnataka Connectivity
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar under the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor.
The project, worth more than Rs 3,175 crore, is expected to reduce travel time by nearly 90 minutes while improving road safety and logistics connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka.
Railway Projects Worth Rs 1,535 Crore to Be Dedicated
The Prime Minister will also dedicate several railway infrastructure projects worth around Rs 1,535 crore to the nation.
These include multiple sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking project spanning 118 km, aimed at reducing congestion and improving freight and passenger train movement.
Additionally, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass will be inaugurated to improve operational efficiency at Kazipet Junction.
Indian Oil’s Malkapur Terminal to Enhance Fuel Storage Capacity
PM Modi will also dedicate Indian Oil’s Malkapur Terminal Project in Hyderabad to the nation.
Built at a cost of over Rs 600 crore, the terminal has a storage capacity of 1,65,000 kilolitres and is expected to strengthen petroleum product handling and meet growing regional energy demands.
Officials said the projects align with the Centre’s vision of “Viksit Telangana for Viksit Bharat,” focusing on infrastructure growth, connectivity and employment generation.
