Lucknow/Nagpur: Model Shraddha Dubey, one of the main accused in the death of Lucknow businessman Shiv Sharma, has been arrested in Nagpur. Uttar Pradesh Police said on Tuesday that Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey, and driver Danish were also arrested.
The three accused had been absconding since the case was registered. Lucknow Police and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), with the assistance of Nagpur Police, arrested them in a joint operation. A reward of ₹50,000 each was announced for information leading to the arrest of the accused.
Interrogation continues at Nagpur Police Station
Following her arrest, Shraddha Dubey was brought to the Bel Road Police Station on Wardha Road in Nagpur, where she is being interrogated. Officials from the Uttar Pradesh STF and Nagpur Police are jointly investigating the case.
According to the police, a case was registered at the Hazratganj police station on October 9th under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on Ranjana Sharma’s written complaint.
The accused will be brought to Lucknow for further investigation. The necessary legal formalities are being completed before that.
Information about a hotel stay in Agra has also emerged
New information has emerged regarding Shraddha Dubey’s activities while she was absconding. According to media reports, she stayed at a hotel in Agra’s Taj Nagari Phase-1 for approximately 24 hours.
Reports claim that CCTV footage shows a car arriving at the hotel at 6:33 a.m. on October 17th. About 20 minutes later, at 6:53 a.m., a woman identified as Shraddha Dubey was seen entering the hotel premises. According to reports, the vehicle’s registration number was UP32RT8043.
A video was released during her abscondence, offering clarification
While absconding, Shraddha Dubey released a video in which she appealed to people not to associate her name with influential individuals.
Earlier, an alleged audio recording had gone viral, in which Shraddha was said to be threatening Shiv Sharma. In the recording, she was allegedly heard mentioning complaining about Shiv Sharma to a “Sir.”
The police are further investigating the matter.
