Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens not to be misled by rumours and misinformation amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, which has triggered global energy concerns and anxiety in India.
Speaking during his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister emphasised the need for unity and responsible behaviour during what he described as a “challenging time” for the country.
Warning against rumours and fake information
Modi specifically cautioned people against believing unverified information circulating on social media and other platforms. He urged citizens to rely only on official updates provided by the government.
“I appeal to everyone to stay alert and not be misled by misinformation,” he said, adding that rumours can cause unnecessary panic and harm national interests.
He stressed that spreading false information during a sensitive global situation could create confusion and disrupt public confidence.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come as the ongoing conflict in West Asia continues to disrupt global energy supply chains. The crisis has raised concerns over fuel availability, including LPG, petrol, and diesel.
However, the government has clarified that there is no shortage of LPG or fuel in the country and that adequate supplies have been secured to meet demand.
