Jalandhar: The son of former MP and senior Akali Dal leader Mohinder Singh Kaypee died in a road accident at around 10:45 pm in Jalandhar, Punjab. The deceased has been identified as Richie KayPee (36), a resident of Model Town. The accident took place near Mata Rani Chowk in Model Town, a posh area of the city. Mohinder Singh Kaypee was present in his house at the time of the incident.
Kaypee’s son was travelling in a car near Mata Rani Chowk in Model Town. There, four vehicles collided with each other in which Kaypee’s son Richie died. Richie had a serious head injury and a broken neck. Due to which he died. He had lost a lot of blood after getting a head injury.
The accident happened due to an uncontrolled Creta car
Mohinder Singh Kaypee’s relative Amrik Singh said that Kaypee’s son was seriously injured in the road accident, after which he was immediately taken to the hospital. Where he was declared dead by the doctors. Today, the postmortem will be conducted. This accident happened due to a speeding Creta car near Mata Rani Chowk. At the time of the incident, Kaypee’s son was riding in his Fortuner car.
According to the information received, the Creta car first hit two vehicles, then hit the Fortuner. The people sitting in the other vehicles were rescued safely, but Richie died. The police have taken the damaged vehicles into custody and started an investigation.
The actual cause of the accident will be known from CCTV footage
Richie Kaypee’s friend Sevak Singh said- Richie did not drive fast and was a calm person. He had studied law. He did not stay out of the house till late at night. Richie’s death has caused a wave of grief in the entire family.
Damaged parts of cars were lying in an area of about 50 feet around the crime scene. People are currently gathering at Richie’s house. People have been reaching Kaypee since late night to express their condolences. Police have started scanning CCTV footage. Based on which the real cause of the accident will be clear.
