Body recovered from Nullah, Two friends arrested for murder in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: A day after fishing out a body of a 32-year-old man from Buddha Nullah at Tajpur Road, the police claimed to have solved the blind murder case with the arrest of two friends.

The two accused have been identified as Kallu (35) and Sunil Kumar (30) – both of EWS colony at Tajpur Road.

ADCP – 4 Prabhjot Singh Virk said that after fishing out the body on Sunday, the police identified the victim as Shalu Kumar of EWS colony and after post-mortem the police learnt that the victim has been murdered and a case under section 103 (1), 238 of BNS was registered at Division number 7 police station.

During investigation, the police learnt that Kallu went missing on August 16 and the victim was last seen with his friend Kallu.

When rounded up Kallu and questioned him, the police smelled foul and when posed harshly, he confessed to crime. Kallu revealed that Shallu met him during late night hours at around 11 pm near Central Jail and due to an old rivalry over Rs 10000, Kallu along with his friend Sunil first hit Shallu Kumar with his Bolero car and then hit Shallu with a brick at his face and then assaulted him to death with sharp edged weapon.

ADCP said that after killing the victim the accused dumped the body in the Nullah.

The police also recovered the Bolero vehicle from the possession the accused.
