Mumbai: 28 hours after the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the murder by posting on social media. It wrote, “We will not spare those who help Salman Khan and Dawood.” In this post, Lawrence Bishnoi Group and Anmol Bishnoi have been hashtagged.

Lawrence is currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat. He had fired outside Salman’s house on April 14. Lawrence will be questioned in jail. Salman Khan’s security has also been increased.

The two suspects arrested in the killing of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique have claimed they belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, said sources. Cops haven’t verified this claim while the gang is yet to admit responsibility for the murder that has sparked security concerns ahead of the Maharashtra state elections.

Four accused involved in this murder have been identified. Police have arrested two accused named Gurmel Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap. Two accused named Shiva Kumar and Mohammad Jasin Akhtar are absconding and Mumbai Police has formed 10 teams to catch them. Meanwhile, the Magistrate Court has sent Gurmel Singh to police custody till October 21.

At the same time, Dharamraj Kashyap, who claimed to be a minor, will be given a bone ossification test to find out his real age. The court has approved this and the fourth accused Mohammad Jasin Akhtar is a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. He came in contact with the henchmen of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Patiala jail of Punjab. Mohammad Jasin Akhtar came out of Patiala jail on June 7 this year.

Shooters from Haryana and UP committed the murder. Police have arrested 2 out of 3 shooters. One is absconding. One shooter is from Haryana and 2 are from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh. They were staying in Mumbai for 40 days and were doing recce of Siddiqui’s house and son’s office.

 

 

Siddiqui had Y-security, but at the time of the incident, there was no constable with him. Street lights and CCTV were also off. 3 miscreants opened fire outside MLA son Zeeshan’s office in Kher Nagar, Bandra at around 9.30 pm on Saturday night.

According to sources, 3 shooters who came in an auto fired 6 rounds from two guns. Baba was hit by 3 bullets in these. 2 bullets hit his stomach and 1 on his chest. All three had tied handkerchiefs on their mouths.

NCP (Ajit faction) leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday night. Siddiqui had left Congress in February this year and joined Ajit Pawar.

Reacting to the murder, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that a 5-member team has been formed to nab the third accused.
