Sangrur (Punjab): The stepfather strangled his 9-year-old daughter to death. The girl’s mother explained that she had been married twice, and this tragic incident was carried out by her second husband. She mentioned that her husband did not like her daughter, who used to go skating every day from 6 am to 7 pm.
The mother recalled that on the day of the incident, she called her husband when her daughter didn’t return from skating. He informed her that they were working at the market and would return home afterwards. Later, the husband told the mother that the girl had eaten pizza on the way. When they finally arrived home around 9 o’clock, the husband urgently called the mother downstairs, saying that their daughter was unwell.
When we arrived at the hospital, the doctors pronounced my daughter dead, indicating that her stepfather had strangled her to death. The family is seeking justice. Police Chief Inspector Manpreet Singh stated that action will be taken only after the post-mortem report is available.
