Barnala (Punjab): A young man lost his life in a dispute over closing the deck on a tractor in the grain market of Pakhoke village of Barnala. The young man killed in this incident has been identified as Jasleen Singh Jassu.
Jasleen Singh alias Jassu, along with his companions, had stopped Ramandeep Singh of the same village from running the deck on the tractor. After which a fight broke out between the two parties. Ramandeep Singh called his companions on the spot. First there was a fierce fight between the two parties and during this Ramandeep started the car of one of his companions and drove it at high speed over Jasleen Singh alias Jassu and crushed him badly. Jassu was immediately rushed to the hospital but he died during treatment there.
Eyewitnesses say that Ramandeep’s companions first attacked Jassu with sharp weapons and iron rods and then ran the car over him.

SHO Sherwinder Singh of Thana Sadar Barnala said that Jasleen Singh Jassu had turned off the deck (speaker) of the tractor of Ramandeep Singh of the village. After which both the parties clashed with each other. After this, Ramandeep Singh called his companions and beat up Jasleen Jassu, due to which the said youth was seriously injured and later died.

He said that in this case, the police have registered a case of murder against Ramandeep Singh and his 18 other companions based on the statement of the deceased’s father Gurcharan Singh. He said that the accused will be arrested soon.
