2 migrant workers shot by terrorists in J&K, second targeted attack in 12 days

On Friday, two migrant laborers were shot by terrorists in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, marking the second targeted attack on non-locals in Central Kashmir within the past 12 days. The injured, 25-year-old Sofiyan and 25-year-old Usman Malik, both from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, have been taken to JVC Hospital Bemina in Srinagar; their condition is reported to be stable.

Following the incident, security forces arrived at the scene and initiated a search operation to find the assailants. This attack on non-locals occurred just 12 days after a tragic incident in which a doctor and six migrant workers were killed in a shooting at a construction site in the Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district. At that time, the victims were part of a team working on the Z-Morh tunnel, connecting Gaganeer to Sonamarg.

Additionally, on October 18, a migrant worker from Bihar was fatally shot in Shopian district, with his body discovered by locals, bearing gunshot wounds.
