Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A devastating early morning collision in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district has resulted in the deaths of eight individuals and left several others with injuries. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 2:30 AM near Upni village, when a passenger vehicle, described as a cruiser, collided with a truck. The occupants of the SUV were reportedly traveling to Maihar, a pilgrimage site, to offer prayers when the accident occurred.
Upon receiving news of the crash, local police and senior administrative officials swiftly responded to the scene. They coordinated rescue efforts and ensured that the injured were promptly transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Critically injured individuals have been referred to hospitals in Rewa for more specialized care.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and has announced a financial aid package to support the affected families. The families of the deceased will receive ₹2 lakh each, while those who sustained serious injuries will be given ₹1 lakh. Individuals with less severe injuries will receive ₹50,000. CM Yadav has also appealed to all drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads, particularly during nighttime hours, emphasizing the importance of rest and responsible driving practices.
In his statements, both on social media and to news outlets, CM Yadav extended his condolences to the bereaved families and offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured. He also invoked Lord Mahakal, praying for peace for the departed souls and strength for the families grappling with this immense tragedy. The local administration is working to provide all necessary support to those affected by this unfortunate incident.
