Kolkata, June 17: Five days after the plane crash in Ahmedabad, the first Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London has been cancelled. The reason behind this is said to be a technical fault.

Flight number AI-159 was scheduled to take off from Ahmedabad for London at 1:10 pm. According to the information, this technical fault was detected just a few hours before the flight’s takeoff.

Today’s flight will be rescheduled tomorrow. Due to this, passengers are getting upset. A passenger said, ‘Do not trouble the public in this way. After coming here you tell that the flight has been cancelled. What will 250 people do now? Where will they stay? There is no proper arrangement from the airlines.’

June 17: Passengers were deboarded from the Air India flight

An Air India flight from San Francisco to Mumbai developed a technical snag on Monday night, due to which passengers had to be deboarded at the Kolkata airport on Tuesday morning.

Flight number AI180 was going to Mumbai via Kolkata. The Boeing 777-200LR (Worldliner) aircraft arrived in Kolkata on time at 12:45 am on June 17. It was scheduled to depart for Mumbai at 2:00 am.

The takeoff was delayed due to a technical fault in the left engine of the plane. After this, at around 5:20 am, the captain asked the passengers to get off the plane. He said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind flight safety.

June 17: Bomb threat in IndiGo flight

An IndiGo flight going from Muscat (Oman) to Delhi via Kochi has been forced to make an emergency landing at Nagpur airport after a bomb threat. The airlines had received information that a bomb has been placed in the plane.

After this, the flight was diverted to Nagpur and landed. Nagpur DCP Lohit Matani said that all the passengers have been safely deboarded and the plane is being searched. However, nothing suspicious has been found so far.

June 16: Two Air India flights had to return

  • First flight: Air India flight (number AI315) coming from Hong Kong to Delhi returned. There was a technical fault in it. This flight was of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

  • Second flight: An Air India Express flight from Delhi to Ranchi was diverted back to Delhi soon after takeoff due to a suspected technical problem. The Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft was scheduled to land at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport at 6:20 pm.

15 June: Two flights of British Airways and Lufthansa Airlines returned

  • First flight: British Airways’ Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner coming to Chennai had to return due to a technical fault.
  • Second flight: Lufthansa Airlines (Germany) Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner received a bomb threat. Due to this, the plane did not get permission to land and had to return.

Sparks came out from the flight during landing in Lucknow on Sunday

On Sunday morning, during the landing of Saudi Arabia Airlines flight SV-3112 at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow, sparks and smoke started coming out of the wheel. The pilot immediately informed the air traffic controller about this. During this time, pilgrims were sitting in the plane. The pilot immediately sensed the situation and stopped the plane, thus a major accident was averted.

The airport’s fire team reached the spot and sprayed foam and water. After about 20 minutes of effort, the situation was completely brought under control. The video of the incident surfaced on Monday morning.

The plane took off from Jeddah airport at 11:30 pm on Saturday night carrying Haj pilgrims. There were 250 passengers including crew members on board. The plane reached Lucknow at 6:30 am on Sunday. This incident happened when the plane was coming on the taxi-way after landing on the runway.
