Amit Shah to visit Assam from March 14-16, to attend multiple events

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam from March 14-16, during which he will participate in various events, including the Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), according to senior Assam government officials.

Shah will arrive in Jorhat on March 14 and will inaugurate the newly upgraded Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon on March 15. He will then visit Mizoram on the same day before returning to Assam for additional engagements.

On March 16, the Home Minister will attend the final session of the 57th Annual Conference of the ABSU in Kokrajhar, Assam. The conference, taking place from March 13 to 16 at Bodofa Fwthar in Kokrajhar district, will honor Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, whose birthplace is Dotma.

The conference aims to advance the Mission Quality Education Movement-2030, with discussions focusing on strengthening educational frameworks, skill-building, and empowering students and professionals. The Education and Youth Conclave will also explore the impact of NEP 2020 on regional education.

Dipen Boro, ABSU President, highlighted the significance of the event, stating that it would bring together leaders, experts, and thinkers to discuss strategies for education and empowerment, contributing to meaningful change.

The four-day conference will feature various activities, including sports tournaments, literary contests, cultural performances, and an exhibition showcasing Bodo heritage. Dedicated venues honoring notable personalities will also be inaugurated.

The event is described as an important bridge between aspirations and action, where discussions will transform into long-term initiatives, shaping a future of accessible opportunities for all.
