Kakinada: A blast involving firecrackers at Jai Balaji Transporters in Kakinada resulted in four individuals sustaining injuries on Monday morning. The explosion happened as laborers were unloading goods at the transport facility.
Officials reported that a parcel containing small firecrackers had been shipped from Hyderabad, and the blast occurred when one of the bundles was accidentally dropped. The loud explosion caused chaos among the workers, prompting them to flee for safety.
The injured individuals were promptly taken to the Kakinada Government General Hospital (GGH) for medical care. Kakinada District Superintendent of Police (SP) Bindu Madhav confirmed that the explosion was caused by the firecrackers in the parcel. He stated, “A crackers explosion took place this morning at Jai Balaji Transporters when workers were unloading the parcel. The explosion resulted in injuries to four people.”
The police have confiscated two additional bags of firecrackers and have initiated an investigation into the incident. Further information is pending.
