 Bengaluru: Due to heavy rains in Karnataka, a 7-story building under construction collapsed in Bengaluru on Tuesday. 5 people have died in this tragic incident. As per information, 21 people were trapped inside the debris, out of which 13 people were rescued. At the same time, 3 people are still buried under the debris.

The NDRF team conducted a rescue operation overnight to remove the people buried under the debris. The dog squad team was also called on Wednesday morning. The team has also called big machines to remove the debris. Death toll has increased to 5 as the rescue operation by NDRF and SDRF is still going on.

An eyewitness laborer told on Wednesday that they were eating lunch at 1 pm yesterday when they all heard a loud sound. He added that the building started shaking, and in no time it collapsed.

Politics has started on this issue in Karnataka. Opposition party JDS have accused the Congress of ruining Bengaluru. On the other hand Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said that the situation is similar in many parts of the country. We cannot stop nature, but we are managing it, he added further.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar reached the spot on Tuesday night. He informed that 21 people were trapped in the debris. He said that the building was being constructed illegally on 60/40 land. He assured that strict action will be taken against the culprit of mishap.

At around 4 pm on Tuesday, the seven-storey building collapsed in Bengaluru. Earlier, one person was declared dead and his body was recovered from the debris. But as of now, 5 people have been reported dead. As per the information, All the people who were trapped inside the building are construction laborers who were living under the building.
