Patna: Bihar Police has introduced the ‘Naka Alert’ app, a significant initiative launched by the East Champaran Police in collaboration with the state Home Department, to enhance security and improve police response times. Launched on February 28, the app will provide real-time crime alerts to police personnel stationed at over 50 locations, facilitating immediate coordination.
This application is designed to enable rapid deployment of police patrol teams, local police stations, and Sub-Divisional Police Officers for prompt action. Additionally, it will integrate with banks, jewelry stores, petrol stations, and communication service providers, allowing them to report emergencies instantly.
District Superintendent of Police (SP) Swarn Prabhat stated that the advantages of the ‘Naka Alert’ app extend beyond law enforcement, benefiting businesses and financial institutions by ensuring a quick security response in the event of criminal activities.
The app aims to address the increase in bank robberies, chain snatching, highway heists, and jewelry thefts that have been on the rise in various districts of Bihar in recent months. It will also monitor police response times, ensuring that patrol vans and local stations respond swiftly to incidents.
SP Prabhat highlighted that the app will enhance accountability among police personnel at the station level and for patrol units, with disciplinary actions in place for those found negligent despite receiving alerts.
During the app’s launch, he emphasized its potential impact, stating, “Naka Alert will be a transformative tool for crime prevention and public safety.” The police plan to conduct an awareness campaign to maximize the app’s benefits for the community. Through this technology-driven approach, Bihar Police aims to foster a safer environment for both residents and businesses, ensuring rapid responses and effective crime prevention.
