BJP candidate Mushtaq Bukhari passes away in Poonch at 75

New Delhi: Mushtaq Bukhari, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from constituency 88, passed away in Surankot, Poonch district, on Wednesday at the age of 75.

Kavinder Gupta, the former Deputy Chief Minister, took to social media platform X to express his condolences, stating, “I extend my heartfelt condolences on the sudden passing of BJP leader Mushtaq Bukhari ji.”

State BJP President Ravinder Raina shared his shock over Bukhari’s untimely death, calling him a “Political Stalwart” and noting that his loss is deeply felt across Rajouri and Poonch. He added, “This is an irreparable loss for the entire society. I offer my sincere condolences.”

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) also expressed her sorrow on X, writing, “I am saddened to learn of Syed Mushtaq Bukhari sahab’s passing. May Allah Ta’aala grant him Jannat and provide strength to his family during this difficult time.”

Omar Abdullah, another former Chief Minister, conveyed his condolences as well, stating, “I am very sorry to hear about the passing of senior BJP leader Mushtaq Bukhari earlier today. His death is a loss not only to his party but also to the Pahadi community he championed. May Allah grant him a place in Jannat, and my thoughts are with his family.”
