BKI terrorist with ISI links arrested; UP Police recover more ammunition, objects

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): In a joint operation between the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) and Punjab Police, Lajar Masih, an active terrorist associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and the ISI module, was arrested in the Kokhraj police station area of Kaushambi district early on Thursday, around 3:20 am.

UP Police shared the details on X, stating that Masih, a resident of Kurlian village in Amritsar, Punjab, was arrested in the operation. He is reportedly linked to Swarn Singh, also known as Jeevan Fauji, the head of the Germany-based BKI module, and has direct connections with ISI operatives based in Pakistan.

During his arrest, UP STF recovered explosives and illegal arms from Masih, including three hand grenades, two detonators, a foreign-made Norinco M-54 Tokarev pistol (7.62 mm caliber), 13 cartridges of foreign-made 7.62×25 mm caliber, and white explosive powder. Authorities also found an Aadhaar card with a Ghaziabad address and a mobile phone without a SIM card.

Masih had previously escaped from judicial custody in Punjab on September 24, 2024. According to Punjab Police’s Director General Gaurav Yadav, Masih is a significant associate of Swarn Singh and was in contact with ISI operatives in Pakistan. Masih is also wanted for several criminal cases in Punjab.
