Bomb threat received for Indigo Airlines flight flying from Udaipur to Delhi

An Indigo Airlines flight traveling from Udaipur to Delhi received a bomb threat on Friday, according to airline officials. In compliance with security agency guidelines, the plane was redirected to an isolation area before takeoff, and standard operating procedures were enacted. All passengers were safely evacuated, and the necessary security checks were conducted.

An Indigo Airlines spokesperson stated, “We are in collaboration with authorities, and once security checks are completed, the aircraft will be returned to the terminal.” On Thursday, 20 domestic and international IndiGo flights were issued a new security warning. The airline confirmed that all passengers were safely disembarked and reiterated their commitment to working closely with relevant authorities while adhering to standard protocols.

The flights that received security alerts included Flight 6E 112 from Chandigarh to Ahmedabad, Flight 6E 394 from Guwahati to Kolkata, Flight 6E 362 from Hyderabad to Goa, Flight 6E 334 from Kolkata to Hyderabad, Flight 6E 235 from Kolkata to Bengaluru, Flight 6E 236 from Bengaluru to Kolkata, among others.

In addition to IndiGo, Air India and Akasa Air also faced security alerts on Thursday. Air India officials reported that some of their flights were impacted by threats received via social media on October 24, 2024. They promptly informed relevant authorities and adhered to all mandated security protocols, emphasizing the safety and security of passengers, crew, and aircraft as their highest priority.

Meanwhile, an Akasa Air spokesperson mentioned that the airline’s response teams are closely following all safety and security measures in collaboration with local authorities. “Some of our flights operating on October 24, 2024, have received security alerts,” they said, adding that their emergency response teams are actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with security and regulatory bodies to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.

Furthermore, Goa International Airport (Dabolim) and Manohar International Airport in Goa heightened their security measures on Thursday after four flights meant for these airports received bomb threats. A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) has been formed at both airports to evaluate the situation.
