CBSE rejects allegations of paper leak; warns against misinformation

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted claims of paper leaks during the ongoing Class 10 and 12 board exams, labeling them as “baseless” attempts to incite panic among students and their families.

The board exams commenced on Saturday, with over 42 lakh students participating across more than 7,800 centers, both in India and internationally. Officials reported that 24.12 lakh students are taking Class 10 exams in 84 subjects, while over 17.88 lakh Class 12 students are registered for 120 subjects.

In an official statement, the CBSE said it has been informed of certain dishonest individuals spreading false rumors about paper leaks on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter), asserting they had access to the 2025 exam question papers. The Board emphasized that these assertions are unfounded and designed to incite unnecessary fear.

To ensure a fair examination process, the CBSE has put strict measures in place. They cautioned that students engaging in such misinformation could face penalties under CBSE’s Unfair Means rules and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The Board is actively monitoring the situation and collaborating with law enforcement to address those perpetuating false information. “CBSE will take legal action against anyone found guilty of spreading misinformation to maintain the integrity of the examination process,” they stated. The Board advised students, parents, and schools to rely solely on official announcements from the CBSE website (www.cbse.gov.in) and verified sources, urging parents to help their children avoid unverified news.
