Central Railways takes stern action after man pulls alarm chain with no reason in Nashik

Central Railways has filed a case against a man for allegedly pulling the alarm chain without justification at Nashik road station in Maharashtra on October 26. According to a statement from Central Railways released on Saturday evening, the incident occurred on train number 22221, the down Rajdhani Express, at platform no. 2 in Nashik. The alarm chain was pulled at 6:44 PM, causing the train to halt for three minutes until 6:47 PM.

Passenger Tapas Manindra Mohri (53) was attempting to board the train to Mathura with his wife Kajal Tapas Mohri (47) and their daughter Khushi (8). They were accompanied by their friend Sanjeev Ratan Chand Pathariya (48), who had a platform ticket. As the train unexpectedly began to move, Sanjeev was unable to get off in time, prompting him to pull the alarm chain to stop the train. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff on duty detained Sanjeev, who eventually confessed to pulling the alarm chain without a legitimate reason.

A case has been registered against Sanjeev Ratan Chand under Section 141 of the Railway Act, and further investigations are ongoing. The Railways has urged passengers to refrain from pulling the alarm chain without valid reasons, stating that legal action will be taken under the Railway Act if the alarm chain is pulled inappropriately.
