Committed to protect freedom in Ocean: PM Modi replies Bulgarian Prez regarding rescue operation by Indian Navy

New Delhi: Following Indian Navy successfully rescued the Hijacked Bulgarian Ship ‘Ruen’ and its crew, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev extended gratitude towards the Indian Navy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a post on X, the President of Bulgaria expressed sincere gratitude to PM Modi for the brave action of the Indian Navy. He said, “My sincere gratitude to PM @narendramodi for the brave action of Navy rescuing the hijacked Bulgarian ship “Ruen” and its crew, including 7 Bulgarian citizens.”

Prime Minister Modi also replied and affirmed the commitment of India to protect freedom of navigation in the Indian ocean region.

PM Modi said, “Appreciate your message President @PresidentOfBg. We are happy that 7 Bulgarian nationals are safe and will be returning home soon. India is committed to protecting freedom of navigation and combating piracy and terrorism in the Indian Ocean region.”

Earlier, another minister of Bulgaria thanked Indian Government and India Navy saying, “I express my gratitude to the navy for the successful operation to rescue the hijacked vessel Ruen &its crew members, including 7 BG nationals. Thank you for support &great effort. We continue to work together to protect lives of the crew.”

 India Navy last Friday carried out an exceptional rescue operation in which navy rescued Bulgarian Ship and its 17 crew members, out of which 7 were Bulgarian nationals.
