Cyber attack alert: Pakistan cyber force claims breach of Indian Defence Institutions

New Delhi: In an ongoing series of cyberattacks, the account on X (formerly Twitter) named “Pakistan Cyber Force” has claimed to have accessed sensitive data from the Indian Military Engineering Service and the Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis.

Sources indicate that the hackers may have compromised personal information of defense personnel, including login credentials. Additionally, the group attempted to deface the official website of Armoured Vehicle Nigam Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Defence. The defacement featured the Pakistani flag and an image of the Al Khalid tank.

In response, the website of Armoured Vehicle Nigam Limited has been taken offline temporarily to conduct a detailed security audit, assess possible damage, and preserve its integrity.

Cybersecurity agencies and experts are actively monitoring cyberspace to detect further attacks, especially those potentially sponsored or linked to Pakistani threat actors. These measures aim to identify and mitigate future risks swiftly.

The government is strengthening security infrastructure and digital defenses to protect critical military and defense-related platforms, working to enhance overall resilience against evolving cyber threats and safeguard national security.
