Delhi Government Unveils Comprehensive Road Repair Initiative Following Recent Inspections

Delhi's Road Maintenance tenders for 74 roads floated, 15 more soon: Delhi CM

In a press conference on Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi outlined an ambitious plan for road repairs and maintenance across the national capital, with a focus on eradicating potholes. After Arvind Kejriwal’s recent bail, the PWD (Public Works Department) promptly commenced road repair activities following his recommendations.

“Atishi ji and I reviewed the state of Delhi’s PWD roads, and based on that assessment, I issued a letter urging prompt maintenance. I’m pleased that our AAP MLAs have thoroughly inspected the roads within a week,” Kejriwal stated, criticizing the BJP for neglecting routine road maintenance.

On September 30, Chief Minister Atishi, accompanied by other AAP leaders, including former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Delhi Minister Gopal Rai, conducted a detailed road inspection in the Okhla area as part of the government’s strategy to enhance road conditions. The Chief Minister has designated various ministers to oversee specific road sections in the city and confirmed that tenders for 74 out of 89 roads have already been procured, with the process continuing for the remaining 15.

Kejriwal assured residents that the halted repair work would resume and emphasized a collaborative city-wide assessment approach involving all legislators and ministers to ensure comprehensive road evaluations and necessary repairs.
