Delhi govt orders removal of waste, debris from PWD roads, says Minister Ashish Sood

New Delhi: Delhi Minister Ashish Sood announced on Saturday that the government is taking strong action against illegal waste and debris on PWD roads, reaffirming its dedication to cleanliness and civic maintenance. He stated, “Rekha Gupta’s government will not tolerate illegal waste on PWD roads. We have instructed the PWD department to clear this debris… Our commitment remains firm, with all ministers actively engaged in various locations.”

Sood criticized the previous administration, claiming that the situation had deteriorated due to the actions of the AAP’s Municipal Council and Mayor over the past 2.5 years. He emphasized that the campaign against this issue will continue.

In related developments, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a meeting with PWD and Jal Board officials to address critical infrastructural concerns, including potholes and water supply management. She announced that the cabinet had approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which had previously been blocked by the AAP, and that it would soon be made available to the public.

Gupta also revealed plans to discuss additional pressing issues in future cabinet meetings and mentioned the tabling of CAG reports that the AAP government had not addressed. “In our first Cabinet meeting, we approved the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi with a Rs 5 lakh top-up and agreed to table 14 CAG reports during the first Assembly session,” she stated, affirming the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the public. BJP MLA Vijender Gupta announced that the CAG report would be presented on February 25 during the upcoming three-day Legislative Assembly session.
