Washim (Maharashtra): In a tragic accident on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra’s Washim district, four individuals, including two women, lost their lives after their car collided with a divider. The incident took place near Wanoja and Karanja around 8 pm on Thursday.

The deceased were five members of a family from Umred, Nagpur district, who were returning home after attending a function in Pune. According to police reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle near channel number 215, causing it to crash into the divider on the high-speed road.

Madhuri Jaiswal and Vaidehi Jaiswal died instantly at the scene, while Sangeeta and Radheshyam Jaiswal succumbed to their injuries later in a hospital. The driver of the car sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Washim.

This devastating accident underscores the dangers of high-speed travel on Maharashtra’s expressways and raises concerns over road safety measures on the Samruddhi Expressway, a key arterial route connecting Nagpur to Mumbai.
