Fire in Ajmer hotel: four including a child and women burnt alive, 4 critically injured

Ajmer, May 1: Four people, including a four-year-old child, were burnt alive in a fire that broke out in a hotel in Ajmer. This included a woman as well. Four people, including a one-and-a-half-year-old child, were burnt. Their condition is said to be critical. Meanwhile, another child was also caught in the rapidly spreading fire. His mother picked him up and threw him out of the window. He suffered minor burn injuries.

A fire broke out at Naaz Hotel, located in Diggi Bazaar, at around 8 am. The fire reached the 5th floor of the hotel within no time. A large number of pilgrims were staying in the hotel. These people saved their lives by jumping from the windows.

Four are in critical condition. JLN Medical College Principal Dr Anil Samaria said – Eight people were brought in with burn injuries. Four of them died. Four are in critical condition. A child is also among those who died. 15 people have been rescued and brought out. Out of the four admitted in the hospital, one person is 100 per cent burned. The other three are 50 and 60 per cent burnt.

The road is narrow, causing problems in rescue operations

The road leading to the hotel is narrow. Therefore, there are a lot of problems in rescue operations. During the rescue operation, many police personnel and firefighters also fell ill. Additional Superintendent of Police Himanshu Jangid and other police officers are present at the spot. The hotel is a five-storeyed hotel. The cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit.

Among the dead is Mohammad Zahid (40), a resident of Moti Nagar, New Delhi. Apart from this, a 30-year-old woman, a 20-year-old youth and a 40-year-old man are also among the dead. While one and a half-year-old Ibrahim, Krishna, Alka, and Dhawan are injured.
