Force killed 8 Naxalites in Chhattisgarh: One soldier martyred, 2 injured

An encounter is going on between the police and Naxalites in Kutul area of ​​Abujhmad in Narayanpur on the border of Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra state. It is being told that the soldiers have killed 8 Maoists in the encounter.

The number of Naxalites killed may increase further. 1 soldier has been martyred in the encounter while two are injured. From January this year till now, the soldiers have killed 141 Naxalites in 161 days.

The police had received information that a large number of Naxalites are present in Kutul, Farasbeda, Kodtameta area. After this information from the informer, about 1400 soldiers of DRG and STF were taken out for the operation from Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon and Kanker of Bastar division. The soldiers have been conducting operation against the Naxalites for the last 3 days.

The soldiers have surrounded the hideout of the Naxalites. A day before also, there was intermittent firing with this joint team of soldiers throughout the day.

Encounters are going on again since the morning of 15 June. According to the information received so far, the force has killed 8 Maoists. The number of Naxalites killed may also increase. Officers say that more information will be available when the soldiers return.

About 141 Naxalites killed in 161 days

One of the killed Naxalites was a company commander of DVCM cadre. A reward of Rs 8 lakh has been announced on him. 3 soldiers have also been injured.
