Police opened the jam and pushed the truck operators aside at Ladowal Toll Plaza on Jalandhar-Ludhiana Highway

Ludhiana/Jalandhar: Today  the truck operators and farmer’s jointly blocked the Jammu-Delhi National Highway demanding a grain policy in Punjab. Under the leadership of the truck union, farmers sat near the Ladowal toll plaza in Phillaur on the National Highway between Jalandhar and Ludhiana. This demonstration was to continue till 4 pm.

But in-between as soon as the dharna came to light, a large number of police forces reached there. After this the police opened the jam and pushed the truck operators aside. At present a meeting is being organized with his administrative officials. Truck operators warned that if the meeting does not go well, they are fully prepared to block the highway again.

Police is ready to handle the truck operators and farmers. In case the situation worsens, water cannons and anti-riot vehicles have also been deployed. To put pressure on the central government regarding their demands, the truck union and five labour unions together took this decision on Wednesday.

President of All India Truck Operators Union Punjab, Happy Sandhu has said that the government is wasting time only by holding meetings, but now they will fight for their rights and hold a sit-in. Have been holding meetings with the government in the last two months.
